Pakistan Army Neutralizes 11 Terrorists Linked to Lakki Marwat Attack : ISPR

In response to the tragic attack on security officials in Lakki Marwat, the Pakistan Army has taken swift action, neutralizing 11 terrorists believed to be involved in the incident. The attack, which claimed the lives of seven security personnel, including an army captain, prompted a targeted operation by security forces to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that the operation, conducted on the night of June 10/11, aimed to dismantle terrorist hideouts and apprehend those responsible for the “heinous act.” During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, resulting in the successful neutralization of 11 terrorists and the discovery of multiple hideouts.

The military’s media wing emphasized that a sanitization operation is underway to eliminate any remaining terrorist presence in the area. This decisive action underscores the commitment of security forces to eradicate the scourge of terrorism from the country and ensure the safety and security of its citizens.

The recent attack in Lakki Marwat adds to the escalating violence witnessed in Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan. The resurgence of terror activities, attributed to groups like the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, poses a significant challenge to national security.

According to a security report, Pakistan experienced a record-high number of violence-related fatalities and injuries in 2023, with KP and Balochistan bearing the brunt of the attacks. Recent incidents, including the martyrdom of an army officer in Balochistan’s Zhob district and the killing of 17 terrorists in KP, highlight the ongoing efforts of security forces to combat terrorism across the country.

As Pakistan continues to confront the menace of terrorism, the bravery and dedication of its security forces remain crucial in safeguarding the nation and restoring peace and stability to affected regions.
