In a significant development, PTI founder Imran Khan has reportedly given the green light for dialogue with the government, marking a notable shift from previous stances. This change of heart follows remarks by the Supreme Court urging the PTI to engage in talks with the government to resolve political impasses.
Speaking outside Adiala Jail where Imran Khan is detained, PTI leader Gohar Ali Khan affirmed that the former prime minister has authorized talks with the government. While allies will be consulted initially, PTI reserves the option to engage independently.
The decision to initiate dialogue stems from internal deliberations within the party and considerations of the apex court’s suggestion. However, Imran Khan has not formally communicated with the Supreme Court regarding negotiations.
Gohar Ali Khan emphasized that dialogue should not be misconstrued as a sign of weakness or a political deal. Rather, it is viewed as a pragmatic step towards conflict resolution for the greater good of the country.
Furthermore, PTI’s stance on Pakistan’s policy towards India remains firm, condemning any unilateral changes deemed detrimental to national interests.
In another development, PTI released what it claims to be an audio clip of Imran Khan’s appearance before the Supreme Court regarding amendments to the country’s graft laws. While the authenticity of the audio is yet to be verified independently, its contents align with reported proceedings from the June 6 hearing.
Imran Khan’s willingness to engage in dialogue signals a potential breakthrough in resolving political tensions, offering a glimmer of hope for stability and progress in the nation.
