Brigadier Roberts has had an illustrious career, serving as a pathologist in the Pakistan Army Medical Corps for 26 years. The Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) news agency quoted the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), highlighting that Colonel Dr. Helen Mary Roberts exemplifies merit and national representation in the Pakistan Army.
This milestone follows another significant breakthrough in June 2020, when Maj Gen Nigar Johar shattered gender barriers by becoming Pakistan’s first female officer to be promoted to the rank of lieutenant general. Maj Gen Johar was also appointed as the first female surgeon general of the Pakistan Army, as announced by then-ISPR Director General Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar.
Brigadier Roberts’ promotion is a proud moment for the nation and a testament to the growing diversity and inclusion within Pakistan’s armed forces.
