Punjab CM Urges Swift Completion of Lahore Development Plan

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has emphasized the speedy execution of Lahore’s development blueprint, highlighting key initiatives such as enhancing the drainage system, building access roads, installing streetlights, and reviving parks.

During a recent meeting, CM Nawaz underscored the importance of establishing an efficient waste disposal system across all zones of Lahore. She directed the formation of a dedicated Project Management Unit to ensure the plan’s effective implementation, alongside approving the use of distinct colors for zone identification.

Phase-I of the development plan, targeting areas like Ravi, Shalimar, and Gulberg, aims for completion within 10 months, benefiting over 9.3 million residents with an investment exceeding Rs74 billion. Phase-II, covering zones like Allama Iqbal and Aziz Bhatti, is slated to commence post Phase-I completion.
